How does a pregnant woman-hospital cooperation begin?
At the women’s consultation, the pregnant woman is counted in the 7-12th week of pregnancy, after registering the heartbeat of the fetus. Since then, she has been under the care of a gynecologist. Folic acid, vitamin B9, is recommended for normal fetal development. If there is tension in the uterus, appropriate measures are prescribed to relieve the tension.
Then the standard analyzes of blood, urine, and smear are performed. If no problems are found, that’s it for the initial period.
If detected, additional tests and appropriate treatment are prescribed. Pregnant women with any complexity and any pathology can be served by us, from the first days of pregnancy to delivery and in the postpartum period. We also manage pregnant women with extra-sexual pathologies unrelated to pregnancy, in cooperation with relevant specialists.
The first trimester of pregnancy is especially difficult and unusual. What are the most common complaints of women?
The main complaints are nausea, which is characteristic of pregnancy, and vomiting, a certain frequency of which – up to 6 times a day – is also considered the norm. Of course, this is an inconvenience, and instructions are also given to avoid it. There are cases when we hospitalize because of it and the woman receives appropriate treatment. Fainting may occur in the first trimester of pregnancy due to a drop in blood pressure. For the most part, this is not a signal of a serious problem.
Pain in the lower abdomen and blood products from the genital tract may be cause for concern. In that case, a comprehensive examination and special control are prescribed.
How does a woman’s state of mind affect her pregnancy?
In general, all pregnant women have risk factors. The process proceeds in different ways depending on the resistance and the state of the nervous system. The more irritable a person is by nature, the harder it takes. Same nausea and fainting in two different women can cause a different reaction. Usually, women who have had problems conceiving for some time worry more and are tenser, they call and visit the doctor more often.
What should a woman do and what should she avoid during pregnancy?
The most important thing for a pregnant woman is peace of mind and trust in the doctor. I also advise you not to pay too much attention to the information on the Internet and to consult a doctor first with any questions. A woman should live normally, eat, work, and remember that pregnancy is a normal physiological process and there is no need to worry.
Physical activity is not only desirable but also mandatory during pregnancy. Of course, if a woman was involved in professional sports before becoming pregnant, she should stop during that time. But gymnastics and light exercises, aerobics, and fitness are very useful.
It is possible for a woman to have 10 children at once?
It is theoretically possible, but very difficult to imagine. As you know, such a case was written in the press in 2021.
In June 2021, news site Pretoria News banged its biggest drum to announce that a woman named Gosiame Thamara Sithole, 37, had given birth to 10 babies at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in South Africa.
However, after making some clarifications, it turned out that this information was false.
They found that “none of the hospitals in the province, public and private, had any records of such births at their facilities”. Moreover, the authorities’ investigation contained several compromising details.
For example, the 37-year-old South African woman had not even been pregnant. Social workers tracked her down and brought her to the hospital, where tests showed that Sithole hadn’t been pregnant recently.
The authorities didn’t get into the reasons behind it, but said that the 37-year-old woman was given medical, psychological, and social support to provide any counseling she might require.
