Brad Pitt has a fairly enviable life, I’m sure we can all agree. He’s got the movie star looks, the movie star fame, the movie star talent, and of course, the movie star money.
For decades now Brad has been a household name even in the highest echelons of Hollywood’s A-listers. Put simply, he’s lived a life hundreds of thousands of aspiring actors can only dream of, and if you find yourself jealous, I daresay you’re not alone.
Yet do all of the plaudits and wealth guarantee happiness? Of course they don’t, and it turns out Brad actually struggles with an undiagnosed condition that at one point even discouraged him from leaving the house.

Brad Pitt has had an up-and-down time of things of late. On the one hand it’s said he’s found love with jewelry designed Ines de Ramon – the couple are believed to be extremely happy together – but at the same time he’s been forced to contend with ongoing legal battles involving his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.
Reports detail how Brad and Angelina remain in the midst of a back-and-forth court fight relating to a french winery they purchased when they were together. Angelina his since made accusations of physical abuse on Brad’s part, while Brad has denied the allegations.
On top of that, Brad last year revealed his belief that he suffers from undiagnosed prosopagnosia, also known as “facial blindness”. Worse, the superstar actor claimed “Nobody believes me!”
“So many people hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them,” he initially told Esquire back in 2013, adding that it discouraged him from leaving his home.
“So I swear to God, I took one year where I just said, this year, I’m just going to cop to it and say to people, ‘Okay, where did we meet?’ But it just got worse. People were more offended.”
He went on: “Every now and then, someone will give me context, and I’ll say, ‘Thank you for helping me.’ But I piss more people off. You get this thing, like, ‘You’re being egotistical. You’re being conceited.’ But it’s a mystery to me, man. I can’t grasp a face and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view. I am going to get it tested.”
Prosopagnosia, commonly known as “face blindness” is a condition characterized by abnormalities, damage, or impairment in the right fusiform gyrus, a fold in the brain that contributes to facial perception and memory. In short, it impacts a sufferer’s ability to recognize faces.
Pitt told GQ that he hasn’t yet been evaluated – or at least hadn’t a year ago when the interview took place – but he firmly believes he’s living with the disease.
