Eric and Sylvia Hawkins are not new to anything tiny. They lived for over 15 years in an RV and ran a company and short-term rentals from their camper.
Sylvia and Eric Hawkins run the new Tiny Livin’ hotel in Cape Charles, Virginia.
Their latest endeavor is a set of little houses that were once a 1930s auto court. Over 40 years they fell into disrepair and when found were overgrown with trees, bushes, and trash. The Hawkins decided to make the little houses their next project – a tiny house hotel on the coast of Virginia.

Located in the small town of Cape Charles, Cape Charles Tiny Livin’ features eight little houses for overnight rentals. They come with darling names such as Milk, Stay Awhile, and Mermaid.
Each tiny house has a name such as Vintage or Mermaid.
They each have a bed or sleeper sofa, fold-out tables with folding chairs, and TVs with Roku boxes. The little kitchens have mini ovens, sinks, a fridge, and a coffee maker. Charcoal grills are available outside. Even though they are so small, each home also has a bathroom with a shower and toilet. All toiletries are provided.
The tiny homes are available for overnight rentals.
The outside spaces feature a fire pit and seating for meals or enjoying the coastal air. Cape Charles is home to several fresh seafood restaurants including the Oyster Farm Seafood Eatery and The Shanty.
The renovations at Cape Charles Tiny Living are right on point, with meticulous attention to detail that allows for maximum spaciousness and livability inside of a small, eco-friendly footprint. Foldaway bed and desk units are an example of how these units maximize the space.
