Jason Momoa may not have won this year’s Sexiest Man Alive, but he certainly doesn’t need an award for anyone to see how beautiful he is – after he set hearts racing with an almost-nude appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week.
The climate warrior was appearing on the late-night talk show to promote his latest film, Slumberland – which follows the story of a young girl who discovers a map to a fantasy world called Slumberland – and was even sporting his character’s costume of purple satin pajamas and a rose-colored velvet coat.
However, the 43-year-old actor was soon questioned by Kimmel about a recent Instagram post, where Momoa appears to be fishing in a traditional Hawaiian malo that exposes his bare buttocks.
He was joined by his friends as he spent the day catching aku, which must have been a success, as he wrote in the caption: “Dried aku all week.”
Momoa then addresses the reason why he was fishing wearing the traditional malo, telling Kimmel: “I’m doing a show. I’m a creator and writer and director and producer on this Apple series called Chief of War and it’s all 1780s, 1790s Hawaii. That’s what I wear every day. I was just getting ready for the role and I like to get into character and so I was tanning my white a**.”
He goes on to say: “I actually don’t like wearing clothes anymore.
Kimmel asks Momoa: “Are you wearing this under your clothes right now?”
To which the Hawaiian native replies: “Of course.”
“Is it made out of leather? I’m having a hard time figuring it out,” Kimmel states, before Momoa stands up from his armchair and begins stripping off, much to the audience’s delight. Of course, Kimmel’s band begins playing a slow, teasing number that incites more excitement from the cheering crowd.

The Aquaman star thoughtfully does a small twirl so everyone is able to view his naked derriere in all its glory, before shaking his butt and pulling up his purple silk trousers.
“Let me tell you, I never felt more like Danny DeVito than I do right now,” Kimmel then joked.
Many fans on YouTube commented underneath the short clip Jimmy Kimmel’s team uploaded, with one person writing: “Jason Momoa just broke the internet and pretty much annihilated Magic Mike in one go.”
“Jason is so freaking cool. He’s the guy you would want to be friends with. So humble, laid back, and funny,” another person added, praising Momoa for a lot more than just his good looks.
Someone else commended the actor on respecting his Hawaiian culture, saying: “Jason takes his heritage seriously and connects with his roots and the ancestors. It’s a large part of the reason he has such a magnanimous personality. It’s all real and coming from the inside out.”
