We have been married for a year and live with my husband’s parents. We had our first child 20 days ago and we are very happy because we waited for him with great love and tenderness.

I had a pretty rough birth and the baby is very restless and cries non-stop. I hardly sleep at night. And I feel very tired.

My mother-in-law helps me to take care of the baby, for which I am very grateful to her, because without her help I would not have been able to endure the insomnia and difficulties. Since the baby wakes up at night and starts crying, my mother-in-law tells me to leave the room door open at night so that she can go into the room at any time.

I understand that she does this because she wants to help me, but I am very uncomfortable sleeping with the room door open. I’m complexed lying in the room with the door open. Now I don’t know how to make her understand that it makes me uncomfortable so she doesn’t think I’m disrespecting her.
