After waiting too long for her correct order, an impatient woman finally lost her temper and threw the food at a McDonald’s cashier. However, the fast-food manager refused to let it go, opting instead to completely shatter the woman’s face.
When Brittany Price placed an order for her family in the drive-thru at the McDonald’s in Colerain, Ohio, she found herself in a position that many customers often encounter. Having been given the wrong food, she parked her vehicle and headed inside to remedy the situation.
Anyone who’s ordered from a fast-food establishment knows the frustration of waiting for your meal only to receive the wrong order. Of course, most people don’t resort to physical violence when they have a negative experience at one of these eateries.
Although she explained her problem to one of the employees Price found herself waiting 23 minutes, which was much longer than she felt was reasonable. With her four kids waiting in the car, Price became impatient and walked back up to the counter to confront staff members, Metro reports. It was then that things got out of hand.
“I wanted to get some Happy Meals and some cheeseburgers and that was a very unhappy day for me,” Price explained.
Price angrily demanded a refund before picking up each of the Happy Meals and chucking them at the manager. After the angry mom threw the food at workers standing behind the counter, the manager hurled a large plastic blender at the Price, sending her flying back to the floor.
Brittany Price was left with a shattered cheekbone and broken nose after the incident and was forced to undergo surgery to repair the damage to her face. However, she insists that her reaction was warranted and blames the manager for provoking her.
“It’s like, you’re directly ignoring me, so what choice do I have? I don’t have to put up with this,” she said. “So, I went and got the food, I want my money back and that’s kind of where it all goes from there.”
Price hired a lawyer and filed a civil lawsuit against McDonald’s. A spokesperson for the restaurant explained that they were investigating the incident and reviewing security footage to determine what would happen to the manager.
“The safety of our customers and employees is of utmost importance to us. We are looking into this matter and will take the appropriate steps once our investigation is complete,” the spokesperson said.
After reviewing the footage, police have determined that they do not plan on charging the manager, according to WLWT. However, Price confirmed that she will go ahead with the lawsuit in hopes of compensation.
“I mean, I definitely don’t feel like there would have been a different result,” Price said. “I feel like even if we would have just gone verbal back and forth that it still would’ve escalated to something else.”
Price has shown no regret in her reaction to bad service at the fast-food restaurant. She believes that a violent response was completely necessary for not receiving the right order and having to wait for the correct Happy Meals.
